Learning Objectives for Transplant Hepatology Fellow:
1. To understand the intricacies in management of patients with end stage liver disease and indications and timings for liver transplant
2. To gain expertise in optimal medical management in patients with acute liver failure and acute on chronic liver failure, how to bridge them to liver transplant and their peri-operative management
3. Decision making in treatment of patients with HCC including Immunotherapy
4. Training in Therapeutic Upper GI endoscopy, Colonoscopy and Observership in Endoscopic Ultrasound and Post-Transplant ERCP
5. To understand Liver Radiology and exposure to Interventional Radiology procedures in patients with liver disease including TJLB, BRTO, TIPSS and loco-regional therapies for HCC
6. To understand the basics of histopathology of native & allograft liver and to know the medical aspects of Liver transplantation
7. To understand the principles of immunosuppression in various post- transplant settings like rejection, sepsis, renal dysfunction
8. To develop the concept of team-work along with Surgeons, Anesthetists, Radiologist and Pathologist in management of complex cases
9. To develop interpersonal communication skills and have exposure to national and international conferences
10. To promote research and academic work and publications in peer reviewed journals
Any Candidate who has passed DM/DrNB in Gastroenterology or Hepatology with special interests in Transplant Hepatology.
